Zach Osborne was again in dominating form at the British Masters championship held at Mallory Park.

In a run up to this weekend's Mallory Park ACU Maxxis British championship the Bike It Cosworth Yamaha team decided to use the Masters event as a practice and testing session ready for this weekends race. Zach was in dominant form as he poled both the MX1 and MX2 class aboard his Yamaha YZ250f. He won the two MX2 races comfortably and just lost out on winning the MX1 class after a mistake on the last lap allowed 450 rider Scott Elderfield past to take the win by a one second margin. Indeed the MX1 class included the CAS duo of Gareth Swanepoel and Evgeny Bobryshev on their GP MX1 machines, so Zach's performance was especially impressive. Mel Pocock and Ed Allingham had some positive rides in preparation for this weekend.

Zach Osborne “I was happy today, the track was super grippy and we made some good developments on suspension settings today in readiness for the British Championship round here next week. I’m really looking forward to the to that, racing Roczen and the other regular guys there, it's great preparation for the World Championship which starts in Bulgaria on April 4.

Meanwhile further South Jason Dougan was riding the Pro National at Foxhill and netted fourth overall with third and tenth place finishes, despite a big crash that saw him over the handlebars of his Yamaha YZ450f – he also posted the fasted lap of the race, in race two.

Jason will develop the new Yamaha 450 reverse cylinder fuel injected bike throughout the year. Pheonix tools of Exeter and Plainwood Holding of Northampton have assisted with the inclusion of Jason into the Bike It Cosworth team to contest the British MX1 Championship, as well as the British GP held in May.

Jason Dougan “Today was a good step forward for me, my speed showed today and I am putting consistent races together this year and I feel with the new Yamaha 450 it wont be long before I’m on the podium”.

Next race March 21st Mallory Park round 2 of the ACU Maxxis British Championship.
